Have any of you ever tried fishing a plastic lure or fluke on a bobber? And if so, did it work? Since the river that I fish gets so much pressure these days, I've been trying to think of ways to think outside the box, give the bass some things they haven't seen before, or if they have seen the lure before, maybe come up with a new way to present it. I'm thinking of putting a finesse worm or a wacky-rigged senko or maybe even a fluke under a bobber. Then either cast out, let it drift with the occasional jerk or cast out and reel in like a regular lure. No idea if it'll work but the next morning I head out before work, I'm going to give it a try. Heck, if anything, it'll keep me from getting snagged in the rocks.

In theory at least, say your on the river in the evening and there is a fair wind going a wacky rig or some sort of drop shot bait would rise and fall with the chop and get hammered by the bass. Kinda like a reverse drop shot lol or up shot. How much fun that would be is up in the air though lol. It's worth a try I guess though

thats good thinking comoda the water chop would certianly change the action of the bait as long as you could detect the bite with the choppy water... maybe use a small bobber so that you can still try to feel the line because we all know what that thump is.

I gave it a shot this morning www.landinglunkers.com/2011/06/15/bobbers/LOL I caught a fish but fishing that way is definitely never going to be one of my primary methods, let me tell you. It's pretty boring but, IMO, should not be discounted in areas where nothing else is working or if there's too much stuff in the water or under the water to where dropshotting or other methods aren't good due to snags.

I'll head over to LL and check out your post Nomad.
I did try this once a long time ago. I was using my Humminbird Smartcast and hung a 2 or 3 foot piece of line below it with a tiny brush hog on the end and casted it out and left it there whilst I fished with my regular lures. I had a couple of bites and caught one small bass doing this.....but it was boring.
